The School of Business Administration at Portland State University seeks candidates for a tenure track position in real estate finance beginning September 16, 2015. Successful candidates will provide current evidence of an on-going research program. Candidates should also be able to develop and teach courses within PSU’s Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) program, as well as offer teaching in other the School of Business Administration programs. Demonstrated research interests, including publications in peer-reviewed journals or works in progress will be viewed as a plus
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in business, finance, or economics with an emphasis in real estate from an AACSB accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered, but degree should be completed by September 1, 2015. Preference will be given to applicants whose research is complementary with, or augments that of, existing faculty and to those candidates with teaching experience.
This position will play a vital role in the Center for Real Estate, a collaborative effort between the School of Business Administration and the School of Urban Studies and Planning. The Center hosts an annual conference that attracts 600-700 real estate professionals, produces a quarterly research publication, and involves industry professionals in student mentoring and classroom instruction. Currently the two Schools offer a Master degree in Real Estate Development, which graduated its first cohort of students in Fall, 2013. The University is hiring a third faculty to support this Master degree – complementing one position in the School of Business Administration and a second position in the School of Urban Studies and Planning.
