    Subject to budgetary approval, the University of Houston-Victoria School of Business Administration invites applications for a tenure-track opening in Finance at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for Fall 2014. The School, which is accredited by AACSB International, offers a Bachelor of Business Administration and three graduate programs: the Strategic MBA, the Global MBA, and the Master of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship. The BBA program currently serves over 1000 students, while combined graduate enrollments total nearly 900. Because of our outreach mission, we currently offer classes online and at three locations in the Texas Gulf Coast area: our central campus in Victoria; the UH Sugar Land campus, and the UH System at Cinco Ranch teaching center.     Required qualifications: The position requires an earned doctorate (by August 2014) in Insurance/Actuarial Science from an AACSB accredited university; ABD with confirmed completion within a few months may also be considered. Junior appointments must demonstrate strong potential for research combined with a record of teaching effectiveness. Senior appointments require an excellent track-record in research and teaching. Candidate must be prepared to teach insurance/actuarial science & risk management at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
    Preferred qualifications: Priority will be given to candidates who are FRM and/or PRM.

    Position Summary: The appointment is a nine month, tenure tract position with the following responsibilities: Teach 9 hours per sememster of undergraduate and graduate level risk management courses online, interactive TV, and face to face; pursue high quality scholarly activity; participate in course and program development; perform university and professional service; work cooperatively with diverse groups; perform other duties as assigned by the dean and the chair; and work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Additional opportunities for summer teaching and research/teaching grants may be available.
