    Research Officers (3 posts available)

    Salary: £32,469 to £39,276 per annum inclusive depending on experience

    These posts are funded for two years

    These posts are to assist Dr Jon Danielsson and Dr Jean-Pierre Zigrand, the directors of the Systemic Risk Centre, in the programme of research attached to this ESRC Centre grant. You will have good quantitative research skills in order to conduct original analysis in systemic risk in finance and economics of a quality publishable in top quality peer-reviewed academic journals.

    As well as a demonstrated interest in systemic risk or financial stability, you should have a PhD (or have one nearly completed) in economics, finance, or in a mathematical discipline which permits you to bring these tools to modelling and/or econometric work in financial economics. You should also be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of economic modelling methods and of the underlying mathematical and statistical/econometric tools, ideally including some programming skills in a language like R or Matlab. Experience of presenting findings to scholarly audiences is essential.

    Applicants with research interests in endogenous risk, non-linear feedback loops in economic and financial systems or economic network analysis are especially encouraged; as are applicants with an interest in the statistical measurement and modelling of systemic risk (the Centre has extensive access to valuable and unique data sources, including Markit).
