Florida International University invites applicants for a position as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance (tenure track) in the Department of Finance, College of Business. Even though the candidate is expected to teach and conduct research in all areas of finance, preference will be given to those who can teach mathematical and theoretical finance at the graduate including the doctoral level. Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in finance, economics, mathematics or statistics. Candidates who have the doctoral degree in areas other than finance must have finance as a minor field at their doctoral level.
The candidate can have his/her research interest in either empirical and/or theoretical areas with demonstrated capabilities of publishing in academic journals in Finance and/or related areas (including but not limited to UT Dallas or Financial Times journal list). The successful applicant must have the ability to teach mainly advanced theoretical topics at the graduate level in finance, including but not limited to such areas as stochastic calculus, microeconomic theory, risk analysis and derivative securities, mathematical statistics, behavioral finance etc., in graduate programs including doctoral level courses. The emoluments (including the generous summer package) will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and competitive market forces.
