ABOUT THE SCHOOL:
The Indian School of Business is an independent, research-driven, global business school, with campuses in Hyderabad & Mohali, India. Both campuses function as parts of a single school, and faculty members may reside in either campus. The school launched its one-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP – comparable to with two-year MBA courses offered by other premier institutions worldwide) in June 2001, and has successfully graduated twelve classes of PGP students. The thirteenth class of students started their classes in April 2013. It also offers the Post Graduate Programme in Management for Senior Executives (equivalent to an Executive MBA), the Management Programme for Family Business and the Fellow Programme in Management (equivalent to a PhD).
The ISB has a unique portfolio faculty model that accommodates a mix of accomplished resident faculty and visiting faculty from our associate schools, namely the Wharton School, the Kellogg School of Management, and the London Business School, as well as other leading business schools (Faculty Directory). Senior faculty members from our associate schools, designated as Area Leaders, play a key role in the academic programmes and research at the ISB. In consultation with the resident faculty, they actively engage in formulating the curriculum, recruiting resident faculty, mentoring junior faculty, and providing direction to research in the relevant subject areas. Resident faculty members at ISB have graduated from the best universities worldwide and have published in leading academic journals in their respective fields. The School provides a vibrant research environment for and benefits from visiting scholars it hosts every year. The School also organizes weekly research seminars. The Finance, Economics, and Public Policy area hosts the Finance Summer Research Camp every year for the resident faculty to present their working papers to an audience of invited Finance and Economics visiting faculty members from across the globe, which is a platform for stimulating exchange of ideas and potential for collaboration on new work. Among our research conferences, the Centre for Analytical Finance Summer Research Conference is comparable to the best conferences in finance with respect to the percentage of papers presented eventually getting published in top-tier journals.
