    The Department of Economics of The University of the South invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor rank commencing in the fall of 2014. The successful candidate will serve undergraduates through teaching excellence in a selective liberal arts college located in Tennessee. Candidates should be prepared to take primary responsibility for the three course finance curriculum offered within the economics major. The semester teaching load is 2-3 (five courses annually). Applicants should have completed the Ph.D. in Finance or in Economics (including a Finance field) by September 2014, have an outstanding teaching record and provide evidence of a productive research agenda. Applicants must apply online and submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching evaluations, a research paper, a statement of teaching philosophy and at least three letters of reference. The deadline for applications is September 25 to be considered for an interview at the FMA meetings in October and November 1 to be considered for an interview at the AFA meetings in January.
