    Two Tenure Track Positions in the Finance Department of the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University, Halifax
    The Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Finance at any rank with a preference for one candidate at the rank of Assistant Professor and one at the rank of Associate Professor. The positions will begin on July 1, 2014.


    Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Finance. For the Assistant Professor rank, candidates who are ABD will be considered if nearing completion of their degree. Candidates should possess strong teaching skills and a commitment to research excellence. A strong knowledge in risk management is an asset. The position involves teaching primarily in the Master of Finance (MFIN) program. Successful candidates are expected to teach their regular teaching assignments in the MFIN program in the following functional areas:  Derivatives, Investments, Portfolio Management and Risk Management.


    In addition to the expectations outlined above, the successful candidate for the Associate (or Full) position is expected to demonstrate strong administrative skills and a willingness to travel internationally to promote and recruit for the MFIN program and the Sobey School as a whole.
