- Job Description:
We are looking for a NY-based Quantitative Analyst for our Dynamic Asset Allocation (DAA) group. The DAA group actively manages over $40 billion for a wide array of clients including global institutions, high net worth individuals and retail mutual fund investors. The group’s macro and quantitative research insights are used to develop innovative investment products and drive investment decisions. We assess both short and long-term outlooks for risk and return across all major markets, including Equities, Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities. We use quantitative and fundamental research techniques that are highly adaptive to the current market environment. We combine these views with the specific needs of clients to develop custom portfolio solutions.
The ideal candidate should have:
• An advanced degree in Economics, Quantitative Finance, Applied Mathematics, or another relevant discipline
• 1-2 years of practical research or industry experience with complex quantitative modeling
• Knowledge of SQL, SAS, Matlab (or similar software)
• Familiarity with investment concepts and today’s market environment
• Strong communication skills
Our Quantitative Analysts typically have track records of outstanding professional performance or academic achievement, along with excellent analytical and financial skills, as well as strong verbal communication skills. Candidates should have a strong interest in the capital-markets, the ability to work in a collaborative environment, and the ability to present results to both expert and non-expert audiences. Candidates must be able to multi-task, focus on details, and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
The analyst will report to a senior member of the DAA team and will be expected to collaborate with other members of the team as well as other researchers at the firm.
You will perform quantitative and thematic research across a wide array of asset classes including: equities, bonds, currencies, commodities and derivatives. This research will entail: analyzing factors that drive the capital markets, building risk and return models that predict asset prices, generating optimal portfolios and running historical simulations. Working with complex financial data is a key part of the research process. Staying current with relevant academic, firm, and industry research is crucial to being successful in this role. In addition, you will get exposure to the portfolio management process.
