The Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) invites nominations and applications for the Joe T. Ford Chair of Finance. The successful candidate will join a dynamic business education program, where economic development partnerships with external stakeholders flourish in a thriving Southern hub of commerce and business.
AACSB-accredited, the UALR College of Business is a leader and catalyst in developing, supporting and sustaining economic initiatives. The College has been ranked for the past three years by US News and World Report and is noted for the professional experiences of the business faculty.
The Department of Economics & Finance is highly respected for helping students gain the analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills necessary for success in today’s global business environment. Offerings include majors in General Finance, Financial Services, Real Estate and Economics as well as minors in Economics, Finance, Personal Finance, and Real Estate. The MBA offers a concentration in finance and includes courses in investments/portfolio management, banking, real estate, and international finance.
A metropolitan university on the move, UALR is Carnegie classified both as a doctoral research institution and as a community-engaged university. The growth of graduate programming and the emergence of research as an economic driver in the state of Arkansas have heightened emphasis on the research enterprise across the campus.
As the holder of the Ford Chair, the successful candidate will have a high profile leadership role in the city and state, and will help pace the continued expansion of strong working linkages with the banking, financial services, and investment communities.
