Faculty Positions in the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies
The Graduate School of Business at Stanford University seeks to fill three positions for faculty members whose research and teaching are in areas that will support the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (“SEED”). We seek faculty who are established leaders in related fields to provide intellectual energy and leadership to this effort. We believe that the launch of the Institute provides us with an unprecedented opportunity to attract academic leaders in the study of poverty alleviation to Stanford. We seek full time appointments in the existing areas of the school (Accounting; Economics; Finance; Marketing; Operations, Information and Technology; Organizational Behavior; and Political Economy) of faculty members who will be affiliated with the Institute. Any faculty member appointed through this process should have significant knowledge of and interest in gaining broader on the ground experience in the developing world. We expect these to be senior appointments, although we will consider junior faculty who are on a clear trajectory to be leaders in the field and who demonstrate the capability for institutional leadership. The candidate's research and teaching interests must be related to the core mission of the institute, in particular poverty alleviation through entrepreneurship and management of growing enterprises in the developing world.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications electronically by visiting the web site http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/recruiting and applying within the appropriate SEED category for their academic area. Curriculum vitae, research papers and publications, and teaching evaluations (if applicable) should be uploaded to that site. Alternatively, all materials may be sent by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by postal mail (non-returnable) to Office of Faculty Recruiting, Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, 655 Knight Way, Stanford, CA 94305-7298. However, submissions via e-mail and postal mail can take 4-6 weeks for processing. Applicants may include three letters of recommendation e-mailed to the preceding e-mail address, or sent via postal mail. The search is open until filled.
Stanford University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty. It welcomes nominations of and applications from women and members of minority groups, as well as others who would bring additional dimensions of diversity to the University’s research, teaching and clinical missions.
