    The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) is pleased to announce the 5th GARP Risk Management Research Program funding up to 5 selected research proposals in the amount of USD 15,000 each. Projects will be selected by a Research Committee of risk management practitioners, academicians and researchers chaired by Professor Rene Stulz, Everett D. Reese Chair of Banking and Monetary Economics, Fisher College of Business of The Ohio State University. The Research Committee seeks to provide funding for projects offering: unique approaches and insights into problems of significance to risk management professionals; particular relevance to current global financial risk management issues and needs; and significant potential for bridging the gap between theory and practice. The papers will appear in the SSRN Financial Economics Network (FEN) GARP Risk Management Abstracts and authors will be encouraged to publish results in academic journals of their choice. Topics of particular interest include: Risk Governance and the Board of Directors; Risks of central clearing; Risks of the shadow banking system; Variability of risk measures; New approaches to extreme tail risk measurement; New approaches to operational risk measurement.
