CALL FOR PAPERS: There is growing evidence that short termism in the finance sector has led to undesirable outcomes for both shareholders and stakeholders of companies. The University of Geneva and Sustainable Finance Geneva are organizing a one day conference to explore this issue and stimulate debate and further research on the tension between the predominance of short term thinking and the need for better long term outcomes. • Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: How can we measure non-financial and longer-term risks, and integrate such metrics into investment analysis? What value do frameworks such as sustainable development or Environmental, Social and Governance analysis provide for assessing long-term risks and opportunities facing companies? Do institutional investors engage with companies concerning their long-term or extra financial risks and challenges? • The deadline for paper submissions is December 31st, 2012. Papers should be sent as a pdf attachment to philipp.krueger@unige.ch • The scientific committee is composed of Marc Chesney (U Zurich), Julian Franks (LBS), Rajna Gibson (U Geneva), Margot Hill (UNEPFI), Philipp Krueger (U Geneva), Sebastien Pouget (TSE), Meir Statman (Santa Clara) and Jenke Ter Horst (Tilburg) • Further information is available at http://www.gfri.ch/responsible-finance-summit
